2008 Outlook

It’s that time of year again – people are making plans and resolutions for the upcoming New Year and people are optimistic about 2008. I want to touch on the first two items, but focus on the third today. My feeling is that we have several reasons to plan, but most importantly it is to set the direction you want you and your business to go in 2008. Resolve to make your plan so you can forge ahead in the New Year, review it, stick to it, and revise it, if needed. Now, let’s talk about the reasons to be optimistic…you are alive…you have a choice to be positive or negative….so be positive…there is no such thing as a bad market in our local area…interest rates are low…our area continues to have job growth…our area remains strong in many facets of the economy…there are tremendous opportunities for buyers and investors, including yourself…there will be less competition (fewer agents!)…consumers realize they need a professional and will pay more for it in today’s market plus we are the most professional in the business...you have the opportunity to educate your clients that real estate is a long term investment…the media can only be so negative…builders want and need us…you have the ability to learn and grow here as an agent. It all starts with attitude so make yours positive!
